What Is the Gold Rate in Dubai Today in Indian Rupees by Weight?
The table turns today’s Dubai price into the weights Indian families buy most, including the 8 gram sovereign, also called a pavan.

|---|---|---|
| 1 gram | ₹11,249 | ₹12,271 |

| 100 grams | ₹11,24,896 | ₹12,27,115 |
These figures are the value of the gold alone at the world market price. A jeweller’s bill in Dubai adds the making charge for the design and 5% VAT, and the Gold Souk board rate sits a few percent above the world price.
How Is the Dubai Gold Price Converted to Rupees?
Take the Dubai price per gram in dirhams and multiply it by the dirham to rupee rate. Because the dirham is fixed at 3.6725 to the US dollar, the dirham to rupee rate is simply the dollar to rupee rate divided by 3.6725.
For example, if 22K costs AED 470 per gram and 1 dirham equals ₹26, the gram costs about ₹12,220. Our live table does this automatically with today’s rate.
Which Exchange Rate Should You Use?
The rate on this page is the market mid rate, the midpoint between buying and selling. Banks, card issuers and exchange houses add their own margin, so the rupees that actually leave your account will be slightly more.
If you pay in Dubai with an Indian card, check whether your bank adds a foreign transaction fee. Paying in dirhams, and refusing the offer to be charged in rupees at the counter, usually gives a better rate.
If you send money from India to buy gold, compare the rate your remittance service offers against the mid rate here. A difference of half a rupee per dirham adds up on a large purchase.
How Does the Rupee Affect the Cost of Dubai Gold?
When the rupee weakens against the dollar, Dubai gold costs more in rupees even if the dirham price has not moved. When the rupee strengthens, the same gold becomes cheaper for Indian buyers.
The rupee has weakened from about ₹84 per US dollar in 2024 to about ₹96 in September 2026. That alone added roughly 14% to the rupee cost of the same gram of Dubai gold, on top of changes in the gold price itself.
This matters most for buyers who save in rupees and spend in dirhams. If the rupee is falling, waiting can cost more, even when the gold price in dirhams is flat.
When Does the Exchange Rate Make Dubai Less Attractive?
The exchange rate affects Dubai and Indian prices in the same way, because Indian prices are also based on the dollar gold price. So a weak rupee rarely wipes out the Dubai advantage on its own.
What can reduce the saving is the cost of converting money, fees on cards, and customs duty on gold above your allowance when you fly home. Add those to the Dubai price before you compare.
Bringing Dubai Gold to India
Under India’s Baggage Rules 2026, a woman who has lived abroad for more than one year can bring 40 grams of gold jewellery duty free, and a man 20 grams. The limit is set by weight only, and customs duty applies to anything above it.
Since 13 May 2026, India’s import duty on gold is 15%. The full rules are in our guide on how much gold you can carry from Dubai to India.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is 1 gram of 22K gold in Dubai in Indian rupees today?
The live table at the top of this page shows today’s 22K price per gram in rupees. It uses the world market gold price and the live dollar to rupee rate.
How do I convert the Dubai gold rate to INR?
Multiply the price per gram in dirhams by the dirham to rupee rate. The dirham to rupee rate is the dollar to rupee rate divided by 3.6725.
Why does the Dubai gold price in rupees change even when the dirham price does not?
Because the rupee moves against the dollar every day, while the dirham stays fixed to it. A weaker rupee makes the same gram of gold cost more in rupees.
Is the rupee price on this page what I will pay in Dubai?
No. It is the value of the gold alone at the world market price. Jewellers add a making charge and 5% VAT, and your bank adds its own exchange margin.
How much is 1 tola of gold in Dubai in rupees?
One tola is 11.6638 grams, and the weight table above shows its live 22K and 24K value in rupees.
